Another Stat Service - GoStats Web Stats

Sponsered Post:

Yes, another stat service. I am trialing the GoStats web stats for a while to see how it stacks up against other web stats services. Even though GoStats has been around since 1999 (according to their content), I’ve actually not heard of them before yesterday. Anyway, I signed up last night in under 5 minutes even taking the time to read more details than I usually do during signups. In another 5 minutes I signed up this website and had tracking code in place.

I can say that through these first steps of signup and getting code in place, the only thing that bothered me was having to enter a captcha code to get the code to put on my site. I can understand the security around signups to keep out spammers. However, once I have an account, it would seem that the need for captcha’s should go away (especially for someone like me who seems to always get the code wrong the first time).

You can find the link to view BrainSeeds’ stats on the bottom of the right menu bar. This is more of a personal blog so traffic is limited and very sporadic to say the least. Don’t expect to see huge amounts of traffic if you click the link, but you will get a good sense for what GoStats has to offer. If after my trial I find it worthwhile, I will likely add this to a few of my sites that are more active.

Thanks for the review and especially your thoughts on the captcha. GoStats is working on a better way to mange the automated robots. For now, you only need to enter the captcha under three circumstances:
    1) New account sign up
    2) add a site to your account
    3) request password sent to email

GoStats is always striving for improvements.
