Auction Ads Debuts

Auction Ads launched yesterday. I got my notice in the Link Building Blog RSS feed (what was life like before RSS!) and of course I immediately went over and created an account, generated link code and uploaded it. Sweet! It took literally longer to read their blog post then to implement the system.

Of course there were a few weaknesses in the reporting system — the site is brand new. But I would say the launch went off without a major hitch for me. Things I’d recommend setting up include:

  • dynamic keyword results
  • channels (how can you track individual site and/or page placement results with out it)
  • an Auction Ads affiliate link

I’ll take a little more time to delve into the details once I’ve played around with it some. Given the backing of ShoeMoney and Media Whiz (Text Link Ad’s parent company), I have no doubt this will be a viable business. Of course, time will tell if the payouts rival or surpass other advertising alternatives.

Sweet Amazon WordPress Plug-in

I have not typically linked to Amazon in blog posts before, but had occasion to do so this morning in my SEO ranting blog. So, after a quick search for WordPress Amazon Plugin, a quick download, unzip, upload, activation, and option modification — I was in business. Really, after the search, the remaining steps took less than 5 minutes.

The WP-Amazon plug-in is very slick. Click an icon on the manage post page, enter a search term, select a result, drag it on to your post editor. Less than a minute from icon click to post.

Count me in as a quick adopter of this plug-in. I’m not the most familiar with all of the tricks and tools of WordPress, but I have found that the quality of the plug-ins is what makes me like it so much.
